Tumble Dryer Repair Sevenoaks
Need a tumble dryer engineer in Sevenoaks? I'm Tony Deary, an independent domestic appliance repair engineer with more than 40 years of hands-on experience since 1984. I provide tumble dryer repairs throughout Sevenoaks TN13, TN14 and TN15, including Riverhead, Seal, Kemsing, Otford, Bat & Ball and surrounding areas.
I repair many vented, condenser and heat pump tumble dryers, subject to the age of the appliance, fault and availability of parts.
Tumble Dryer Repairs in Sevenoaks TN13, TN14 & TN15
A tumble dryer that suddenly stops heating or leaves clothes damp can quickly become inconvenient, especially during colder or wetter weather when outdoor drying is difficult. I provide tumble dryer repair services throughout Sevenoaks for many leading domestic appliance brands.
When you contact Tony Deary Appliance Repair, you deal directly with me. I'm the engineer who discusses the fault with you and the engineer who attends your property. There is no call centre, no national booking company and no different engineer being sent out after somebody else has taken the booking.
I've worked with domestic appliances since 1984 and have repaired tumble dryers through major changes in appliance technology. Traditional vented and condenser dryers are still common, while heat pump dryers now use more complex refrigeration and airflow systems to improve energy efficiency.
Because different faults can produce very similar symptoms, accurate diagnosis is important. A dryer that takes too long to dry may have an airflow problem, heating fault, sensor problem or mechanical issue rather than one obvious failed component.

Tumble Dryer Repair Prices in Sevenoaks
Tumble dryer repair labour in Sevenoaks starts from £109 plus parts.
The labour charge covers attending your property and diagnosing or repairing the dryer.
If a replacement component is required, I'll explain the repair and the cost before proceeding.
When I diagnose the fault and supply the required part, the return visit to fit that part is included within the agreed labour charge, so there is no second full labour charge simply because a component needed to be ordered.
Vented, Condenser & Heat Pump Tumble Dryers
There are several main types of tumble dryer and each uses a different method of removing moisture from clothing. I work on many vented, condenser and heat pump dryers throughout Sevenoaks.
A traditional vented tumble dryer heats air and passes the moist air through a vent hose to the outside of the property. These machines are generally simpler in design, although they can still develop heating, motor, thermostat, timer and airflow faults.
Condenser dryers collect moisture into a water container instead of venting it outside. They can develop pump, heating, airflow, sensor and water collection problems as well as normal mechanical faults.
Heat pump dryers operate differently again. They use a refrigeration circuit to recover and reuse heat, allowing lower running temperatures and improved energy efficiency. Because these machines rely heavily on good airflow, blocked filters, internal fluff accumulation, fan problems and sensor faults can all affect drying performance.
Dryer Airflow & Poor Drying Problems
One of the most common complaints with tumble dryers is that the appliance runs but takes much longer than normal to dry clothes. This does not always mean that the heating system has failed.
Tumble dryers depend on the correct movement of air through the drum, heater or heat pump system and filters. If airflow is restricted, drying times can increase significantly and the machine may operate at higher temperatures than intended.
Filters should always be cleaned according to the manufacturer's instructions, but lint and fluff can also build up in less accessible areas of the machine. Fans can fail, ducting can become restricted and sensors can give incorrect readings.
A proper diagnosis helps establish whether the problem is caused by routine maintenance, an airflow restriction or a component failure.
Heat Pump Tumble Dryer Repairs in Sevenoaks
Heat pump tumble dryers are now common in many homes because they typically use less electricity than conventional dryers. Their design is more complex, however, and repair costs can vary considerably depending on which section of the appliance has failed.
Problems can involve circulation fans, drain pumps, sensors, control boards, wiring or the heat pump system itself. A dryer may also appear to have a serious heating fault when the underlying problem is poor airflow.
I assess the machine before recommending expensive work. If a major component has failed and the repair would not make economic sense, I'll explain that so you can decide whether replacement is the better option.
